Product Description
Made of 100% recycled plastic, it is molded right here in the USA, and its dark color absorbs like and helps heat up the materials in side, speeding up the composting process. Inside the bin, the walls are ribbed providing added strength and superior mixing action.
With 20 ventilation slots, the compost inside the bin will always have enough oxygen to keep it well aerated, and when standing upright, the slots allow compost tea to drain out easily into the soil. A single hole on each of the four panels of the bin make an easy-to-use port for a compost thermometer. This makes it easy to get a quick, mess-free temperature reading on the compost inside without even opening the bin.
The tumbling action of the bin keeps the contents inside mixed well, creating compost in almost half the time as a stationary compost bin. The bin holds up to 60 gallons (or about 9.3 cubic feet), and the sturdy, powder coated steel legs hold the bin securely off the ground. Along with being off the ground, the twist-locking lids on either end keep animal pests out and away from the compost. The legs also lock into place, so moving the Spin Bin in the yard is easy to do without the legs falling off.
With compost instructions embossed on the inside of each lid, you can always have a quick reference for what items can and cannot be composted.

I'm not sure if the other reviewers had a different version of the geobin or if presto improved the system, but the stakes are not an issue anymore.they penetrate the ground atleast 6" The bin provides the perfect 3 cubic feet of volume to achieve the optimum pressure on the pile, the ventilation is just right as well. I have been making alot of active compost over the years.And these bins are by far the fastest and easiest to use from my experience. For the price of a well known tumbler, that did poorly in the compost system shootout, you could buy several of these and create your own compost factory. Then I fork/shovel (depending on how composted everything is getting) the pile into the bin again and what was on top is now on the bottom and vice versa. We have a lot of leaves and grass clippings and are very happy with the amount we can fit in each bin. |

 O2 Compost micro bins, This review is from: Aerated Micro-Bin Compost and Manure Management System (Lawn & Patio) The system works well. The corrugated PVC drain tiles supplied with the system did not hold up well under the weight of the contents of the Micro bin. After 60 days under the bin they were partially collapsed. Had to replace with solid drain tiles which have held up much better. You can be as frugal or elaborate with your bin construction as you desire if cost is your concern or looks don't matter much. Product instruction manual supplied is well drafted and easy to follow. Composting guidelines included is very helpful as well.I started out with one Micro bin and have expanded to two. The finished product is very well broken down and the Nutrients give gardeners an excellent alternative to commercial fertilizers. Noxious weeds are all but eliminated with this system compared to static pile.
