If you're looking for an inexpensive composting solution, the Good Ideas Compost Wizard Standing Bin is your solution. Made of light durable polyethylene, this unit can setup easily but take mother nature-foots abuse. The ribbed design reinforces the structure while helping with aeration and making the whole unit more attractive-Something you won't find in those low quality panel-designed compost bins. Aeration holes are located around the outside and help to speed up aeration but are too small for rodents and other animals to get through. Both the top lid and lower access hatch are made large and with easy-to-grip hand holds for convenient access. The whole unit ships conveniently in two interlocking pieces. Setup takes about 5 minutes and is as simple as using a few fasteners to secure the top to the bottom. You can also configure which side the bottom hatch is on to customize your setup. The Standing Bin comes in Reprocessed black and Forest Green: Two rich, dark colors that will absorb the sun-foots light and heat and still look lovely in your backyard. Operation is straight forward: keep adding material as you wish or until the bin is full. Then let gravity do most of the work. You will still need to aerate it at intervals (a few times a week depending on your location and conditions) and monitor temperatures to ensure a quick turn over.

We received the Compost Wizard without a single word of instruction enclosed. The top is not a good fit for the bottom, with the holes for brads not lining up at all. We are tempted to return the bin, but are having our custodian re-make the holes so we can put the two halves together.

We suggest looking for a bin at the local do it yourself store to actually see the quality before purchase.

We have just bought a second one of these bins because it is just what we need for a summer's worth of "humanure." The first one was already assembled when we bought it at an Agway store, but we expected assembly problems after reading the last review on this site. At first, when we took it out of the box, we had the bottom section upside down. Holes certainly didn't match up. But when we turned the bottom right-side up, holes matched up easily, and it was a simple operation to put four plastic connectors through the holes. It took less than a minute. It's a nice, big, strong bin that works well.
